Women and Complaining

Researchers say it isn't clear why in numerous studies women tend to complain more about their sleep, saying they don't get enough shut-eye and find it difficult to fall asleep and stay asleep. Sleep studies might not be picking up the whole story, some researchers say, adding that more investigation is needed... "This isn't going to be popular, but some studies show that mothers get more sleep than fathers," he says. - "A Sleep Battle of the Sexes", WSJ, 8/23/2011
Seems patently obvious, doesn't it? Women complain more than men, despite having less reason to complain.

What a shock.

Interesting deduction and supporting passage. Never mind that women are more accountable for childcare, dealing with the physical ramifications of giving birth and breast feeding with babies, etc etc.

My husband had one of those shining moments in my life. After having surgery, he had to do the work around the house as well as work all day long. As he was putting the laundry into the dryer he was COMPLAINING about how much he hated to "work all day long and come home and work all night." The moment it came out of his mouth, he realized both his mistake and my personal experience. After working all day long in a professional, full-time job, I still came home and worked every night cooking, cleaning and doing laundry. Women - though they also work full-time jobs still are responsible for 80% of the household chores. Just like men, in this economy, we are expected to do more with less. Cut us some slack - if you don't want to hear a woman complain - take out the trash so you will be out of earshot!

In response to the comment above; I completely agree but that is the nature of business now.

We are expected to do more, with less. Is disappointment inevitable?

Hilarious post, thank you sharing.

I'm reminded of the joke, "If a man speaks in the forest, and no woman hears him, is he still wrong?"

Yep. This study shows that women in Consulting say to be having a hard time coping with the working hours.. Men seems to cope fine. Shocker.
Consulting = Modern Slavery?

Yeah, it might seem easy, but what women do is really hard. Much love to them.
